Typhany Strouse
1990 Jeep

line12

My dad and I go everywhere together and maybe he will let me drive one, My Dad drives the T-bucket and my Mom drives the 32, someday. He is now building me one to take with him when I turn 16, I’m 15 now. My Rod Ride is a 1990 Jeep my dad bought for me. We are fixing it up together, he is teaching me to paint right now. I go to all the Cruises and Hot Rod Shows with my dad. We will be putting together the RODS*DOGS*HOGS car show in September to benefit the Table Mountain Animal Care Center, I also help with the Red Lion Car Show. Hopefully the Jeep (Titled Daddy’s Money) will be done in time for my Mom or Dad to drive it to at least one of the shows. We have only had it for about 3 weeks. I love that my dad is teaching me to paint and do bodywork. His dad taught him and they have many cars they have done together. We have so many cars we, we could put on our own family car show. (ha ha) We have a 1929 Model A Roadster Pickup that my Grandpa built (it was my great grandpa's truck and he gave it to my dad last year) and it will be mine someday. We also have a 1956 Ford Pickup Custom Cab that my Dad and Grandpa built, maybe it will be mine also. We have a 1932 Rat Rod Style hotrod named Buford (my Grandma's). A 1932, which you have a picture of, named Beulah (My Moms). We have a 1923 T-Bucket named Lucy, and now to keep the tradition alive since my Dad has no sons, he is building me this jeep. We will be painting it like the T-Bucket. I love hot rods and I have been around them all my life. My friends think I am funny because I know the different names of cars; like Camaro (which my Dad redid from the ground up -a beautiful car) Firebird (my Dad built one for my sister) and Highboy. I think it is sad boys nowadays don’t know anything about cars like engine size (454, 350 327 or better yet blown) or carbs. All they care about is the ugly Japanese styles. There is nothing cool or different about those cars. In 15 or 20 years is somebody going to want to rebuild one or have a show for them like they do now for the street rods. The Classics are the most beautiful cars, everyone who has one should be proud to own them, no matter if it is a Rat Rod, a Custom or a Show Car. I know my Jeep is not a hot rod but someday I will have one just like my Dad. And it is fun learning what my dad and grandfather have to teach me. These cars are very expensive, so I wish that they were cheaper to buy and build so more families like mine could enjoy them and pass the tradition on. The way it looks, I am going to have to teach my future husband about these cars and MAKE sure he knows WE WILL HAVE ONE, OR TWO, OR MAYBE THREE. So he better get a good job. (ha ha.)
Thanks
Typhany
