DW Horton, with his Daughter Lily

phban

Introduction (by Paul Horton)
This is a '32 Ford that I want - almost. The original plan was to build a "very simple" hiboy roadster with my son, DW. The plan got changed early on, and most of the pictures are of the "very simple" 3-window.

Business changes limited my involvement to project management and advice. DW has built virtually the whole car. He also did the documentary. Some readers will remember this project from the Horton Street Rod Products website. After Paul Barber bought Horton's from me, he gave back the buildup articles. There is about 1-1/2 years between article 21 and 22 when very little was done to the car. DW was working out of town in the new Horton location and I was getting Welder Series underway.

DW has his own way of describing how things are being done, so here is
the original introduction, as he wrote it.

Introduction (by DW Horton)
With all the TV shows building a car in a week of 26-hour days, we felt the itch to do a bit better. That’s why we’ll be building this ’32 Hiboy in 32 hours. Using this catchy approach, it would have been much easier to build a ’99 Geo in 99 hours, but we are in fact a street rod shop. So follow along as we avoid our families, starve, and drink lots of Red Bull building a ’32 in 32. Under Producer Paul and Director Dorothy, we will try to document all the important events, and some not-so-important ones too.

Note: We are building a ’32 Hiboy, but it will not be done in 32 hours. Well, I guess it will be if you’re reading this 32 hours before it’s actually done... Anyways, off to the shop! Please let us know if there’s anything in particular you want documented, or any photos you want us to take (of the car). Where appropriate, we've added a list of parts shown in the picture. Hopefully, this will help with any questions you may have about what parts we're using.
