Jay Leno's Garage took to its YouTube channel at the end of December to give us some updates on the projects that have been in progress. Leno takes us through the garage and either introduces or reintroduces projects that have appeared on the show before or are appearing for the first time, and these projects are top-of-the-line. Leno's garage is every rodder's dream.
The first project that Leno brings us to is one that he has been working on for quite a while: A restomod 1914 Detroit Electric. This car is all electric and when it was stock, it had the capacity to go 22 mph. With the restorations that are happening at Leno's garage, it will have the ability to go upwards of 50 or 60 mph. Leno laughs as he says, "It's not a Tesla engine, but it'll powerful like a Tesla when it's done."
We see a few more things as he tours us through his garage, such as his most prized and high-end vehicle, his Cunningham and a pair of broughs, as well as another Cunningham and the engine on the dyno, which is pretty much stock which spits out about 275 hp and 300 lbs/ft torque.
Perhaps the coolest of the projects Leno shows us is a 1971 Porsche 911T. Porsches in any capacity rev most rodders engines, but the 911 is by far the most spectacular. Leno picked this beauty up in Beverly Hills after it sat in a condominium parking lot for a bunch of years, and he's restoring it to its most beautiful form. The car has never been in an accident and the body was basically perfect, but there are some minor cosmetic fixes like ripping seats and fading paint.
