Sale terms: The car is now for sale to the highest bidder. The starting bid must be $225,000 or better. When a qualified-bid is received it will be posted on the website. Bidding will be open until 4:00 pm PT May 20^th. The buyer will be responsible for arranging transportation. The car is currently located in Norwalk, CA in the same garage that it was originally built in−40 historic years ago.

Important Notice:  Bidding ends at 4:00 pm PT.on May 20th.  However, to prevent electronic sniping, and keep the bidding fair, IF an additional active bid comes in between 3:50 and 4:00, the bidding will be extended for 10 minutes or until the cessation of the bidding. Each additional bid will extend the bidding by 10 minutes, thus an equitable means of giving all bidders an opportunity. * A good faith payment via PayPal or other secured funds for $5000 down payment will be required and full payment within 48 hours.

At Pomona Winternationals in 2007 Junior Thompson had a conversation with Don Garlits who could have purchased the car before Junior got it. Garlits said, “Junior, I don’t care if you get 1/2 million dollars for the car because it was originally yours and I wanted you to have it.”
