King of Hi Performance, Mr. Norm

If you think of significant dealers who epitomized the spirit and voice of the ultimate high performance Mopar®, there’s only one…the legendary Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge in the heart of Chicago. When you walked into the Dodge Dealership at Grand and Spaulding in the 1960's as a young kid and you got something you’d never experience at any other new car store, respect.

Mr. Norm would personally set you up with the ride of your dreams. And if Chrysler didn’t make it, Mr. Norm did. Not one performance Mopar was allowed to leave until Mr. Norm had your car fully dyno-tuned and performance prepped.

Through years of dedicated innovation, Norm Kraus became known as the "King of Hi Performance, Mr. Norm". Norm revolutionized how performance cars were sold and went so far as to create such vehicles as the prototype 383 Dart GTS and the famed M-Code 440 Dart, both of which were later put into production by Chrysler. Along with Gary Dyer, he pioneered "Funny Car" racing to keep his performance department on the leading edge without directly competing at the drag strip with his customers. With this kind of commitment to offering the most powerful Dodge’s in the country, it’s no surprise that the Mr. Norm legacy endures today.

Mr. Norm's Garage was created by a partnership between Mr. Norm, Larry Weiner, Bill Sefton, and Mike Staveski in the summer of 2008.

The vision of the group was to bring back the King of Hi-Performance Mopars in both classic cars and new Chyrsler vehicles. In 1962, Norm Kraus started Grand Spaulding Dodge and from that day forward he has been known as the King of Hi-Performance for all Mopars.

Their mission is quite simple, Mr. Norm will continue to be the King of Hi-Performance for both classic and new Chrysler vehicles. This year saw an inaugural squaring off of Muscle Car Kings with the Nickey vs. Mr. Norm’s Garage Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals.  They hosted this indoor showcase for the cars that have become a part of their lives and to provide a place to revive past memories and friendships while opening the door to many new memories and friendships.
