Robert Genat grew up in Detroit with a passion for cars. In 1968 he joined Ford Motor Company’s Design Training program. Since leaving the corporate world behind him in 1993, this former Ford employee has chosen a full-time life on the road as an automotive photographer and writer. Genat’s latest book The Deuce: 75 Years of the ’32 Ford, is a look back at 75 years of one of the most famous cars built by Ford Motor Company. Legendary auto customizer George Barris will make a rare Sacramento appearance July 14th at Sacramento Vintage Ford to debut his new line of memorabilia and sign autographs for fans. He will also bring the legendary TV Star the “Batmobile” that was used on the original TV series Batman. George Barris and his late brother Sam grew up going to San Juan High school and started their customizing careers here in Sacramento.. For More

Cruisin Products has just released a special edition 1932 Ford frame for the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Deuce. It debuted at the Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. Special features include, belled holes in the recessed flanged boxing plates and X member, 140 flat and round head rivets, flanged crossmembers, 360 heli-arc roset welds, interlocking gusset plates riveted in place and over 120 man hours to assemble each frame. A limited number of up to ten of these frames will be built and identified with a laser etched stainless steel I D plate. Upcoming Shows

Okay Rodders and Rodettes ! The BIG ONE is fast approaching... The NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville... the one we all wait for .... There’s lots planned for this show of shows and we even know of a few rooms available in case you haven’t made plans yet... so there is NO Excuse to miss this one. Over 11,000 street rods will be on hand at the Kentucky Expo Center this summer as the National Street Rod Association® presents its 37th Annual Street Rod Nationals®. The dates for the city’s largest vintage car show will be August 3, 4, 5, 6, 2006.The NSRA Street Rod Nationals is the world’s largest participation event and thousands of spectators from around the area will attend the event. A wiring harness is only as good as it is engineered. The quality of the wire or the crimps is meaningless if it is engineered with incorrect lengths of wire, improper gauges or poorly constructed laid-in wires (which we will discuss shortly). Articles and Other News....

Nick Cirino owner of Big Al’s Carponents passed away on June 25 at his home in San Bernardino, CA. Born on August 22, 1932, in Alhambra, California, Nick spent his entire life in Southern California in and around racing and custom cars. Nick was an active member of the street rod community and touched the lives and hearts of everyone who knew him. His teasing sense of humor, notorious temper tantrums and outrageous story telling will be remembered. A celebration of who Nick was will be held on July 22, 2006, at 1:30 pm in the Renaissance Room at the Orange Show Fairgrounds, in San Bernardino, California. According to Nick’s wife, Nancy, there will be no changes made in the way of doing business with Big Al’s Carponents. Nancy will continue operating the company as in the past. The focus of the company will continue to concentrate on the design, manufacture and distribution of fine quality machined accessories not only for Street Rods, but also for Early and Late Model Custom and Specialty Cars and Trucks.
