Over 1,400 street rods will be on hand at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds this fall as the National Street Rod Association® presents its 5th Annual Golden State Street Rod Nationals®. The dates for the city’s largest vintage car show will be October 6, 7, 8, 2006.
This will be the 5th time the NSRA Golden State Street Rod Nationals® have been held in Sacramento and an all time high number of participants and spectators are expected this year. Almost all of the Cal Expo Fairgrounds will be utilized for the event as well as most of the buildings, which will house over 80 manufacturer and dealer displays and other attractions.  NSRA-USA.com

Somernites Cruise is held on the Fourth Friday & Saturday of each month April-October, rain or shine. There are many events on "the strip" on Friday night and in Downtown Somerset on Saturday. The "Show & Shine" concludes at 8PM and then "cruising the strip" shifts into high gear and continues until ??? More and more cruisers are now choosing to arrive in town on Friday evening and stay a night or two so they can better enjoy all that the Cruise Weekend has to offer. Don’t miss the LAST CRUISE of this year..... OCT 28 .... Get READY... The NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion is coming up soon.... October 6-8, 2006 are the dates and you don’t want to miss this event.... On June 1, 2006, family and friends of Alvin “Mousie” Marcellus gathered at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, California, to celebrate the 75th birthday of one of drag racing’s greats. Approximately 150 people were on hand to cut the cake, sing happy birthday and hear Marcellus’ friends extol his life. Story by Richard Parks & Photos by Roger Rohrdanz .... Check it out !

We love and admire those icons of Rodding who brought us to this point in time, we also know that our hobby depends on us bringing in those Young Rodders who will carry our torch into the future and introduce this great hobby to future generations. It’s in this vein that we have decided to initiate a “Young Rodder of the Month” contest. We are asking rodders under the age of 30 to send us their stories and pictures of their cars ... muscle cars, rods, classics... all are eligible.
