This spring we had the great pleasure to meet one of the nicest “car guys” ever.... Dave Brackett is one of those guys who just loves to tinker and dream up new ways to make a car or motorcycle go fast and to do it in ways that no one else dreamed ! His background with cars goes way back to the sixties where he wrenched with many of our industries notables... working at Hooker Headers, Fitzgerald Racing, Micky Thompson Racing,

	and becoming involved in Fuel Altereds. He went on to become good friends with Tom McMullen and worked with Tom at AEE Choppers. In late 1965, Dave decided to start his first business, having acquired the skills from all the previous ventures. He opened Brackett Speed Products in Anaheim, Ca. He built many headers, built numerous hot rods and race cars, a few notables being; a small block Chevy dragster for the Skinner Brothers of Brea, Ca.; three 55 Chevys with tube frontends and custom clips, one for Bradford's Crankshaft Service and one for Walt Buie; a 1934 Ford with early 60's Dodge engine, headers, lift chassis, tube axle, etc.; put a small block Chevy in a 1950's Volvo, with headers and put a Chrysler hemi in an Austin with chassis and headers. Dave always had new ideas rattling around in his head.... and from those ideas came some really innovative and unusual cars, bikes and parts. We were just fascinated with Dave’s history and his talent and so we asked him if he would share some of his stories with our visitors.... lucky for us ... he agreed and we are looking forward to all that he has to share. 	Haleyville High School Hot Rodders

The 2007-2008 Haleyville Automotive High School Technology class in Winston County, Alabama has had the privilege of building a 1923 Ford T-Bucket. It has a 383 Windsor engine donated by Bennett Racing, as well as a transmission and overhaul kit donated by B&B Performance.This project not only informs the students in the car career, but motivates them to come to school. In order to work on this project, you must be a 2-3 year student, maintain a 90 overall average, at least a C average in other academic courses, and better attendance is required (only 3 unexcused absences per semester are tolerated). 	This 21st annual event brought in over 10,000 Car and Cycle Swap Enthusiast to the Branch County 4-H Fairgrounds in Coldwater, Mi and Ray Schuler was there to be sure we could see all that went on.. Take a Look
