1st Annual Grand National Roadster Show “HotrodHotline.com Editors Choice Award “

   We were honored this year by the Grand National Roadster show when they asked us to award an “Editors Choice” award for the Saturday and Sunday “Drive In” Shows.  Jack had a tough time choosing both days .... as there were so many really nice cars (even with the rain) ....  On Saturday, the award went to Pete Ashlock for his very nice 61 Impala.

organized, sanctioned and safe racing sites. They would work with the car clubs and show them how to put on a drag race, how to do inspections and crowd control. Rickman also covered just about every form of motorized racing that was ever ran. He was easy to talk to, supportive of other people's efforts and helped to publicize these racing leagues and make them more popular among the community. Rickman was inducted into many Hall of Fames and received many honors in his life. He leaves behind his wife, Virginia, a son, Micheal Rickman, a daughter, Lynda Morgan, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mail can be sent to Micheal Rickman at 4100 Camino Real, Los Angeles, CA 90065, and he will see that the family receives your cards and letters. Rick mentioned before his passing that in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum would be appreciated. Rick was an ardent supporter of the museum.

Model 40, arguably one of Ford’s sleek exhibit at the Wally Parks NHRA Mo June 2009. “The 1933-’34 Ford Model 40 was a very important car both for Ford and for hot rodders. It helped pull Ford out of the depression and powered racers from Indy to El Mirage. It’s an important milestone anniversary that the Parks Museum’s is excited to celebrate,” said Tony Thacker, executive director of the museum

Next on the agenda for RodShows is the Sacramento Autorama February 6 - 8th. The Sacramento Autorama is now in its 59th year. The Sacramento area is known as the Custom Car Capital of the World and boasts being home to the 2nd longest running indoor car show.
Over 450 show vehicles will compete for awards inside the Cal Expo buildings. Up to another 400 vehicles will join the event Saturday for the 3rd Annual Autorama Drive-In.

There’s been a big change for the San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show for 2009 .. The date has been moved to FEBRUARY 20- 22  The show had previously been held in Jan. but this new later date works out better for everyone.... Check it out and be sure to put this long time show on your Calendar.
