Hotrodhotline is on the Scene at the Detroit Autorama..... narrowly missing the big snowstorm that closed down the airport... we made it to Cobo as the action begins....setup is almost complete at Scott Jobb puts the final polish on his ‘37. There is excitement in the air.... Ridler contenders are rolling in along with a wide array of Nostalgia Rods, and very cool cars from the Detroit area.... Jack had the tour of a lifetime on Wednesday... thanks to his good friends Al Tawse and Matt from MHRA... he saw the inside scoop and the real car guys spots in Detroit..... including a huge wonderful collection of 99 cars and indescribable memorabilia .... then they went to a shop that has built many Ford proto type cars... some so secret that they are under lock and key.... the tour then went on to American Speed, Thomson Automotive and to the home shops of several MHRA friends.... What a great day Jack had ! We’ll have the whole tour online next week.... and you’ll really be jealous when you see where they took Jack....

The rich history of the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) is kept alive year by year as land speed enthusiasts race on the dry lakes of Southern California and at the Bonneville Salt Flats of western Utah. Every year after the season ends in November the officials and volunteers meet to organize the awards banquet that is held in January of the following year. This year the awards banquet was held on January 29, 2011 at the Westminster Rose Center, in Westminster, California to celebrate and honor those men and women who have set records or served with distinction and although Jack couldn’t make it, Richard Parks and Roger Rohrdanz enjoyed the night and got some great coverage of the events for us.. The Hall of Fame Induction Banquet for GNRS was held at the Sherton Hotel. The 2011 Hall of Fame Honorees were; Paul Bragg, Leonard Lopez, Bob Munroe, Jimmy Vaughn and Tom Walsh. MSD Ignition introduces the all new Digital 6AL Ignition Control! MSD started with a clean slate and drew up plans for an all new housing. We kept the same footprint as the traditional 6AL but lowered the profile for a sleek look. The wiring is all routed out one end of the unit through a sealed and locking connector. This eases installation and keeps your wiring looking neat and clean.
