The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California announced today that board member Thomas V. McKernan, chairman of the board of the Automobile Club of Southern California, will assume the role of museum board chairman effective immediately. In this role, McKernan succeeds NHRA founder Wally Parks’ longtime friend and So-Cal Speed Shop founder Alex Xydias, who will continue to be an active board member.  Learn more here

Welder Series  Clamp Plate and U-Bolts. For 1928-34 Ford stock or repro front crossmember with a transverse spring. Repro front springs usually have fewer leaves than the original, making them thinner. The Syracuse Nationals is  right around the corner..  July 20th ...  and everything indicates a banner show.  The Twelfth Annual Syracuse Nationals was a Record Setter!   Every attendance record was broken!   Well, it’s almost time for Tex Smith to head across the pond and join us here in the States for a few months.    We’re hoping he’ll stop by and visit for a while when he’s in this neck of the woods.  We’ve enjoyed having  Tex send his musings  ... and we know that you have all enjoyed them a great deal.   We’re looking forward to the next collection ... Priced at $1,628, the Fleetmaster was the second most expensive Chevrolet in 1947. Academy Award winner Jack Nicholson drove one in the film “Two Jakes” (1990) before donating it to the Petersen Automotive Museum in 2003
