John Walter Trapp sent in these pictures of some of his Dad's collection. Walter Trapp has been a custom car buff for many years and his sons are right there with him....
This is some of Walt Trapp’s collection. There is a 1950 Buick called the “Trulyrare” chopped, channeled, section, with a 392 Chrysler Hemi. ISCA first class winner in the late 60's up until 76 when it was put in to storage until late 2004. Now it is back in his shop, with the rest of the 50’s and 60's and 70's cars. It’s like going back in time when you go in to Walt’s shop.
Walt lost his eye sight about 6 years ago, but it didn’t stop him from working on his cars. Repairs, washing, waxing and polishing the chrome are just some of the things Walt would work on with his two sons at his side to help out. They are also there to help show off some of, if not all of, his great work. He is a man to look up to and be proud to know.
Walt and his two boys still fine time go cruising and to local car shows. He is one of the greatest car show buffs I’ve ever seen. He has been side by side with Barris Customs and the Moray (Zodic) Vette, Penthouse Pet Car, and many more greats. He has won first place time after time.
He has built or rebuilt some great ISCA custom cars, 1950 Buick now as (The Trulyrare) The 55 Chevy (The Aztec), 1959 well know Snake Vette with a 409 and the ISCA winner 1963 Stingray Split Window Vette called (Mothers Revenge) and he’s still going.
|Walt really is one of the greatest. I’m writing this because he is my father and everyone that knows him will tell you Walt is the “King Of Customs” and a good old fashion Street / Strip Racer. I’m very proud to have him in my life. I know that if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be the best auto tech and car buff I am today .He has raised us with the real heart and soul of the 60’s cars and customs.|
