Legendary auto customizer George Barris will make a rare Sacramento appearance July 14th at Sacramento Vintage Ford to debut his new line of memorabilia and sign autographs for fans. He will also bring the legendary TV Star the “Batmobile” that was used on the original TV series Batman. George Barris and his late brother Sam grew up going to San Juan High school and started their customizing careers here in Sacramento. In addition to the Batmobile, Sacramento Vintage Ford will host a car show at their Rancho Cordova facility and retail store. Over 250 Hot Rods and Custom Cars are expected to be on hand to help debut the George Barris Product line at Vintage Ford. George will have his new Kustom and Hot Rod road bicycles, t-shirts, historic photos and much, much more of that great memorabilia from George Barris Kustoms in North Hollywood, CA.
The original TV Batmobile was the first Batman vehicle and George Barris was consigned by the studios to build a wild state-of-the-art vehicle for the Batman TV series. Ford Motor Company donated one of their project show vehicles as a base for the Batmobile. George added the bat phone, radar, and all the trick gadgets that made the Batmobile famous around the world. This will be the last Sacramento appearance of the Batmobile before being completely restored and updated by Mike Gray at Advanced Restoration in Sacramento, Ca.
This will be a once in a lifetime experience with George Barris on hand with his famous Batmobile, and a huge car show with great BBQ from JR’s Texas BBQ.
