Springfield, Mo. – Hotrodding legend Boyd Coddington, star of the popular Discovery Channel show “American Hot Rod,” announced today that he will be holding a collector car auction set for July 13-15, 2006, at Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Mo. Event Director, Stewart Howden, will be holding a news conference announcing the event at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the fairgrounds. |

The auction company, “Boyd Coddington’s Collector Car Auction,” will feature up to 500 cars, some with reserve and some at no reserve, during the inaugural event. Millions of dollars worth of cars of all types, including muscle cars, antique cars, classic cars, street rods, customs and exotics, will be featured. |

“This auction will give me the opportunity to expand my business into the collector car market,” Coddington said. “Collector cars of all types and price ranges will be offered for sale during the event. Springfield, Missouri, is the perfect location for this type of event as it is centrally located and within a day’s drive of one-third of the U.S. population. The E*Plex at the fairgrounds is a perfect facility for the event and will allow our guests a chance to own the car of their dreams in a comfortable, air-conditioned environment.” |

During the event, Boyd Coddington’s Garage also will unveil a car built on “American Hot Rod.” The crew from “American Hot Rod” will film the unveiling to be shown on an upcoming episode of the show. Coddington also will be on hand overseeing the unveiling and the event. |

To kick things off, there will an invitation-only gala Thursday evening at the Oasis Inn & Convention Center with food, live entertainment and a charity auction benefiting The Coddington Foundation. The Coddington Foundation was founded by Boyd and his wife, Jo, and provides a unique opportunity for terminally ill children to live their dream through building a hot rod, which is auctioned for charity. The foundation also provides work opportunities for mentally challenged adults. |

At the conclusion of the collector car auction, a drawing for a collector car valued at $20,000 will take place. For each car purchased or sold, a ticket will be issued to the buyer and seller who will be entered into the drawing to win the car on Saturday night. They must be present to win. |
