Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum Exhibit

“World’s Fastest Indians” Exhibit Added to
Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum Lineup

Based on the movie, new exhibit runs from June 10 through August

POMONA, Calif. (May 15, 2006) – The world’s fastest Indian is stopping at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California. The legendary motorcycle, made famous first on the salt in Bonneville and then in the recent Sir Anthony Hopkins movie, ‘The World’s Fastest Indian,” is the spotlight of a new exhibit coming to the motorsports mecca at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., from June 10 through August.

According to Tony Thacker, executive director of the Parks Museum, the exhibit will include the historic Indian Scout bike that New Zealander H.J. “Burt” Munro rode to fame to set numerous land speed records at Bonneville in the 1960s, as well as three to four other vintage Indian racing motorcycles. Thacker added that he and the Museum are working on the exhibit with Roger Donaldson, who wrote, directed and produced “The World’s Fastest Indian,” which will have its release on DVD from Magnolia Home Entertainment June 13th.

“We are hoping sometime during the exhibit’s run to have Roger show a documentary he made in 1971 about the “real” Burt Munro ,” Thacker said. “We’re working on the details now.”

“The World’s Fastest Indians” exhibit, presented by Cycle World magazine, is one of several new exhibits coming to the Museum, including:

Exhibit is presented in association with DuPont Automotive Finishes.
