If you’re running a Turbo 350, 200R4, 700R4, or 4L60 automatic, those lock up converters were designed to be fully locked-up for maximum efficiency. Full lockup allows no slippage with much less transmission wear, and most of all, to get better mileage (and who doesn’t want that these days)? The converters were made to be locked-up by the factory’s ECM, so Ron Francis came up with a solution that will only take you about 30 minutes to install. There is no reason to remove the pan or modify anything.
