	35th Annual Pepsi NIGHTFIRE NATIONALS


	IDAHO’S LARGEST RACE RETURNS TO FIREBIRD, THE PEPSI NIGHTFIRE NATIONALS, AUGUST 10TH-13TH

Eagle, Idaho…Without a doubt, the largest motorsport’s event in the five-state intermountain west is the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals. Set for August 10th thru 13th, the Nightfire will be celebrating it's 35th Anniversary at Firebird Raceway.

Special preparations and plans have been underway for the past ten months to set the stage for one of this country’s premiere racing weekends.

In total, better than 500 entrants will be on hand for the Nightfire from fifteen western states and three Canadian provinces, including over 50 Professional entries vying for $170,000 in prize money.

In the Nitro ranks, defending AA/Fuel Dragster Nightfire champ Brett Harris, Kaysville, UT, will lead a big field of challengers. Reigning Fuel Altered champion Ricky Ruiz, Sparks, NV, will headline a tremendous field of AA/Nitro Fuel Altereds. Perhaps the biggest news of this year's anniversary weekend will be the first appearance of AA/Nitro Funny Cars in almost a decade. Ranked #1 in current VRA national points, Kris Krabill will compete with the Gary Turner "Peddler" Arrow in the open 8-car field, which boasts nearly a dozen pre-entries.

In addition, Pro Modified doorslammers make their first appearance of the season, along with the spectacular Jets and Wheelstanders.
