Moves to Embassy Suites

The 2007 San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show Hall of Fame induction ceremony is moving to the Grand Ballroom at the Embassy Suites Hotel in South San Francisco.

Promoter Rick Perry stated, “We are very excited to announce that our host hotel, the Embassy Suites, will be the new location for the Hall of Fame. We outgrew the small area we had at the Cow Place and needed the space available to us at the Embassy Suites.”

Flowmaster Exhaust systems will once again be the presenting Sponsor of the prestigious Bay Area automotive Hall of Fame. David Featherston of Flowmaster is excited about the new venue and is looking forward to honoring the three 2007 inductees.

The Hall of Fame is proud to have among its members such automotive dignitaries as Chip Foose, Roy and Andy Brizio, Joe Bailon, John D’Augstino, Frank DeRosa, Dick Dean, Sam Foose, Blackie Gejeian, Art Himsl, Steve Moal, Arlen Ness, Darryl Starbird, Gene Winfield and over forty more hot rod and custom greats from around the country.

Current members of the Hall of Fame will start the selection process by submitting nominations.

After the nomination / elimination process the current members will choose the new inductees through a voting process.

Nominations will be posted on the San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show web site at www.sfcustomshow.com .The new inductees will be named before the show.

Michael Dobrin/MDPR

Michael Dobrin has been involved with promoting, publicizing and writing about the American hot rod scene since the early '60s, when he joined NHRA as a publicist. He's handled public relations for the Grand National Oakland Roadster Show under the reign of Harold "Baggy" Bagdasarian and the late Don Tognotti. He writes regularly for publications like Street Rodder and The Rodder's Journal and has been the co-curator of the Oakland Museum of California exhibition, "Hot Rods & Customs: The Men and Machines of California's Car Culture."
