Legendary custom car builder, Gene Winfield will bring one of his restored movie cars to the San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show, January 12-13- 14, 2007. The classic “Star Strip” movie stared in the “60’s Sci-Fi movie “Solar Crisis”.

The car features a modified 1947 Ford frame and giant 427 cubic inch Ford engine. The custom body was all Gene Winfield with hand crafted panel and of course, a classic Winfield custom candy paint job.

Gene Winfield has built numerous TV and Movie cars including vehicles for Bewitched, Star Trek, The Man from U.N.C.L. E., Get Smart, Mod Squad and Magnum Force, His movie credits include Blade Runner, The last Star Fighter, Solar Crisis, Back to the Future II, and The Last Star Fighter. He has built custom vehicles for commercials and once actually froze a car in a block of ice for a commercial. Gene has appeared on such TV shows as Monster Garage, Modern Marvels, Rides, Hot Rod TV, and My Classic Car.

Gene who is a member of the San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show Hall of Fame, the Grand National Roadster Show Hall of Fame, and was recognized by NHRA with an Lifetime Achievement Award, will be appearing at the Cow Palace event with his “Star Strip” movie car.
