Are you building a nostalgic hot rod, and cruising the swap meets and internet for the beautiful, and highly sought after, tapered oval tubing ’32-’34 radius rods? The guys at Fatman’s have figured out a way to reproduce them, formed from 1/8” steel as the original, and assembled by TIG welding for more strength. That TIG welded seam is moved to the bottom side for an improved appearance, especially when chromed. And your plater will love working with new steel rather than some pitted 75 year old parts. A heavy steel bracket joins the front of the radius rod to the axle, and is set up for a 5 degree caster angle, The original design lacked the offset for the spring perch pin angle, with this updated design accommodating the angle for a truly vertical mounting and a cleaner look. A rod end threaded insert is TIG welded to finish the radius rod. Custom lengths and different rod end threads are no charge options to allow a perfect fit to your chassis-whether brand new or updating an existing hot rod. A set of graduated holes can be added using TIG welded plugs drilled in a taper matching the rod itself. Why pay big money for old, beat up radius rods when you can have new? Call Fatman’s at (704) 545-0369 to get a pair coming!
