The 2007-2008 Haleyville Automotive High School Technology class in Winston County, Alabama has had the privilege of building a 1923 Ford T-Bucket. It has a 383 Windsor engine donated by Bennett Racing, as well as a transmission and overhaul kit donated by B&B Performance.
This project not only informs the students in the car career, but motivates them to come to school. In order to work on this project, you must be a 2-3 year student, maintain a 90 overall average, at least a C average in other academic courses, and better attendance is required (only 3 unexcused absences per semester are tolerated). Out attendance and grades have increased by as much as 75%.
The car made an outstanding showing at the World of Wheels this year. The car is going to be auctioned off at the 911 festival on June 14, this year. The money raised will help fund next years project, which will include building another car from the ground up. Racing to our future and... this is just the beginning!
