21st century, NewMad sets a new ‘benchmark’ of automotive creativity and excellence that will forever be copied. Dubbed ‘The Million Dollar Nomad’, over 24,000 man-hours were consumed in the construction of this unique automobile at a cost exceeding 1.3M dollars. Cost to replicate this car today would be close to 2 million dollars.

CONSTRUCTION
Over 3000 body, chassis and interior modifications were made during construction. The car sits on a NASCAR-inspired chassis utilizing modern/5th-generation Corvette independent suspension and height-adjustable shock absorbers. A 500 cubic inch fuel injected engine provides power to a Hughes Performance modified GM 4-speed automatic over-drive transmission. Baer racing four-wheel disc brakes, custom designed 20” billet wheels with BFG low profile tires and Corvette power rack/pinion steering complete the chassis details.

Contemporary design elements were applied to the body to modernize the cars overall look and feel. Front fenders and hood were lengthened and the body channeled over the frame to provide a lower stance and more horizontal appearance. Glass area was reduced and the roof sectioned to further lower the cars height. Custom fabricated glass flushed with surrounding body panels and hand-formed bumpers tucked into the body further enhance the modern/contemporary design. The original chrome detail was replicated through hand-formed trim pieces allowing retention of key Nomad design elements such as the front fender/door molding, rear wheel well opening, vertical tail gate strips and exterior window trim.
Modified Lexus power seats; custom fabricated center console and rear seats anchor the hand-stitched two-tone grey leather interior. Charcoal ultra-suede headliner and grey square-weave carpet complete the interior appointments. Controls come from a 2001 Mustang Cobra instrument cluster, Corvette shifter and Budnik leather wrapped custom steering wheel. A 550-watt Rubicon amplifier drives the sound system through Sound Stream speakers and Clarion components.
