What's the deal? Well, we've cut every bar 36" long and only splined one end. The other end of the bar gets trimmed to the exact length you need. On the left, the smooth bore coupler goes over the end of the bar that gets trimmed to length. The hole in the coupler wall is a pilot hole so you can drill right through the bar. Drive the double wall split pin into the hole, then weld around the end of the bar for more strength. It's a good idea to recess the bar in the coupler about 3/16" for weld area. After you've welded the coupler to the bar, go ahead and weld the bar to the arm.
