This 1953 Studebaker Commander was purchased in San Antonio, TX in 1992. Reconstruction began in 1996 with every piece being built. The project was finished in June of 2002. The vehicle only has four stock pieces remaining: the windshield, back glass, and two grille pieces. The engine block is from a 1971 Chevrolet dump truck. The custom paint is known as Egyptian sand pearl. The car has been featured in both the March 2003 and 2004 Custom Rodder, the 2004 Goodguy Yearbook, the Fall 2004 Power and Performance, the September 2002 Super Rod, and July 2005 Turning Wheels. The vehicle has won multiple awards since 2003, including the 2008 ANPAC Carshow for Kids Chairman's Choice award.
