Racing safety and Equipment Pioneer Jim Deist Passes Away

Jim Deist’s involvement in all types of motor sports was from the heart. The many lives that were saved through his equipment and safety development speaks highly of his dedication for all racers. Jim was the best.

 in the late 50's Jim Deist applied his years of experience in aircraft safety to motorsports. He is credited with developing the first fire suit and successful drag chute... which led to the formation of Deist Safety in 1958 in Glendale, California.
