New Vintage USA has introduced their new indicator lamp panels. “ We were tired of going to car shows and seeing some pretty high-end cars with cheap, off-the-shelf LEDs plugged into the dash for turn signals and other lamps. We felt it was time to bring a product to the market that has all of the warning lamp functions, in an attractive package that looks professional” said, Mark Surel, President, New Vintage USA. This new product comes in 13 and 7 lamp configurations, which can be mounted horizontally or vertically. While having a custom look, they are still styled in a manner that fits many vehicles from hot rods to dune buggies to kit cars. The 7 lamp panel comes configured for turn signals, high-beam and 4 warning lamps that can be adapted to any 12-volt system. This panel can also be ordered to display transmission gear selection, with a much better look than the panels with LED lamps plugged into them. Also available is the 13 lamp panel, which has turn signals and warning lamps with a transmission gear selection readout. What is really nice is these are not your typical digital or plain-jane panel with LEDs, they light well and look the part in almost any vehicle. The panels are available in polished or raw aluminum that can be painted, anodized or plated. All of the Panels are made in Detroit and feature New Vintage’s limited lifetime warranty.
The New Vintage indicator lamp panels have the right style and function for just about any application. New Vintage made a conscious decision to make a product that stands above the rest. Many similar units are billet aluminum with LEDs epoxied in from the back; a one-way process that makes the part un-serviceable and difficult to apply different finishes to. The front is a separate billet aluminum part that can be removed from the rest of the assembly. The front cover houses the velvet-front, low gloss light panel that is silk-screened from the back; it is virtually impossible to see the lamp indicators when not lit. By simply changing this part, a variety of custom applications can be created very easily, and at a low cost. Behind the panel is a diffuser that creates a soft, even light across the lit area of the panel, making it easier to view at an angle and eliminates any hot spots. A spacer that attaches the LEDs places the lamps at the ideal distance from the lit portion, making the entire area on the front light evenly. On the large panel, 13 lamps could be confusing to install; so New Vintage used a circuit board to hold the LEDs and a color-coded wiring harness to simplify the installation. The wires have been reduced from 26 down to 18 and are bundled in two lengths for under-dash and transmission signal connections. The parts work as good as they look and are easy to install. Instructions with templates are included and are available to download to make it easier to plan your project out ahead of time. With great looks, function and value along with a limited lifetime warranty, New Vintage has a real hit on their hands.
