	1934 Ford Celebrated at Next Prolong Twilight Cruise, May 6th


	The California Kid and ZZ Top's Eliminator are some of hot rodding’s milestone cars on display at the next Prolong Twilight Cruise Night at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum on Wednesday, May 6. So, if you have a ’34 Ford or any pre-1970 car show it off at the next Cruise, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Admission is free to the Cruise and Museum

The Museum continues it’s year-long celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the 1933-’34 Ford Model 40, arguably one of Ford’s sleekest designs, with a special exhibit in the Museum, on display through June 2009. And, in recognition, the May Cruise Night’s theme is the ’34 Ford.

“The 1933-’34 Ford Model 40 was a very important car both for Ford and for hot rodders. It helped pull Ford out of the depression and powered racers from Indy to El Mirage,” said TonyThacker, executive director of the museum.

“This exhibit and May Cruise Night is dedicated to the racers and rodders who embraced the Model 40.”

A Southern California family-favorite, the Prolong Twilight Cruises makes for a great family outing and won’t break your budget. It’s an evening of family fun and a chance to see some of the coolest cars in Southern California.

While in the museum, check out the Ford Model 40 exhibit, presented by Steve’s Auto Restorations, Intercity Lines and The Rodder’s Journal, featuring a number of legendary 1933-’34 Ford hot rods, including the SO-CAL Coupe and the famed Mooneyham & Sharp 554 car (courtesy of Don Garlits’ Museum of Drag Racing). Representing the hot rod community will be the California Kid, the Super Bell Coupe and Jake Jacobs’ coupe. Other cars on display include the new, all-steel ’34 3

-window coupe from Steve’s Auto Restorations and TLC reality TV star Jimmy Shine’s “Bare Nekid” Ford Pickup.

Outside the museum, enjoy a raffle, 50/50 drawing and see hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, rat rods and muscle cars. Cruises are held the first Wednesday of every month, April through December. The remaining Cruise Nights dates for 2009 are June 3, July 1, Aug. 5, Aug. 26, Oct. 7, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2. All proceed benefit the Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, a non profit 501(c)3.
