The Goodguys Tank’s Hot Rod of the Year competition takes center stage at its new home at the Goodguys 12th Nashville Nationals, May 19-21 at Nissan Stadium. One of Goodguys' coveted Top 12 awards for 2017, the Hot Rod of the Year competition will begin at the staging area, which is on the West side of Nissan Stadium, on Friday, May 19.

The group will head out at 9 am sharp for a 100+ mile road trip cruise around Nashville and surrounding areas, including a trip to Grooms, Willis Johnson’s collection, Marathon Village, as well as a 1/8th mile drag strip run at Music City Raceway in Goodlettsville.

Following the drag and brag and road trip on Friday, the cars will return to Nissan Stadium. After this, the five finalists will be announced and displayed together for the rest of the weekend. The overall winner will be announced on Sunday, May 21 at the awards ceremony.

The basic criteria for the award are: It’s driven regularly, has a mean attitude, and screams the words “hot rod." No cream puffs!
