I found this 1956 sedan delivery at an online auction with 4 hrs left to go. I won the bid and rescued the car.
I make '55 and '57 Chevy body kits for circle track racing and I needed to find a 55-57 wagon to make a fiberglass roof mold from. I could not find any parts cars in our area but a facebook friend alerted me to this one at the auction called Repocast in Grand Rapids, Michigan . I am in Ravenna, Michigan about 35-40 miles from there so it worked out great. The car has minimal rust spots in the floor but the frame and the rest are in great shape.
After seeing all the detailed artwork on the car, I just dont want to make the mold from it since I will have to sand, prep and paint the roof to make a nice mold. The roof would not be harmed but it would be repainted. Most that have seen this car say it should be left as is on the paint for a cool old school street car and I agree. Plan right now are to put a mild 350 sb and turbo 350 to make a cool street car.
