Cars & Coffee in Irvine quickly became an institution with all automotive enthusiasts. Why was it so successful? I think the magic formula was that it wasn’t an organized event but rather a simple happening that grew organically.
Many of you expected next Saturday, December 27th, 2014 to be the final Cars & Coffee in Irvine. Unfortunately, this past Saturday (the 20th) was the last event. The event was hugely oversubscribed and due to the large unexpected crowd, everyone felt it was wise not to have one more event at that location. To repeat: THERE WILL BE NO MORE CARS & COFFEE AT THE IRVINE LOCATION!
However, does the spirit of this gathering really have to end? We still need a destination to exercise our vintage toys. We still need to drink coffee on Saturday morning. We still need quality time with our car friends. So what has really changed? An open piece of asphalt isn’t available anymore? That’s it?
No big deal?
Let’s get some new pavement.
Since C&C was never an official event, unofficially, some enthusiasts would like to meet for coffee starting Saturday, December 27th from 7am-9am at the District in Tustin, CA. Below are maps of the location as well as exactly where we plan to park.
We’d like to start small to ensure our welcome and keep the group to like-minded enthusiasts, so we ask that everyone be cautious in forwarding this invitation only to friends that you know will share our values. We’ll grow over time, and starting small will serve us best.
We do request that you respect the property and patronize the many great coffee and breakfast establishments at the District. If we are kind and polite to our hosts, nothing has to change and the tradition can continue.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself, Richard Schnyder, or Lori Ruben. Lori is a long time car enthusiast and has graciously offered her time to help. Richard is connected with many of the British car people and has also volunteered his time.
Cheers and see you all on Saturday, December 27th!
