The Great Labor Day Cruise
(of Golf Carts?)
Costa Mesa, CA
Sept 1-2-3, ‘07

Story and Photographs by Roger Rohrdanz

The 25th annual Great Labor Day Cruise at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. began as usual, hot temperatures, perfect evenings. 1500 Hot Rods gather and car friends that may not have seen each other for a year, reunite for 3 days of cruising around the 2 mile cruise route, visiting with old friends, making new friends, checking out the vendors offerings, and generally relaxing. This is the only major event that allows golf carts to cruise. There seems to be issues with them, “they congest the cruise line”. Other comments were, “hot rods pay $60. to enter golf carts pay nothing” and “they think the cruise lane is 3 lanes wide, and they think their $300. golf cart is a “work of art”! Saturday night a great rock n roll show keeps cruisers jumping. The very nice cars that are on hand provide for some quality award winners on Monday. Thanks for the Show!
