This event has had it’s ups and downs over the years and it appears that, in it’s 30th year, the Great Labor Day Cruise is on the up-swing. This event has been a staple in the So Cal car scene for 30 years. Many participants and spectators came from many different cities and the surrounding states. The weather was clear, sunny and hot during the day, and cooled off a bit in the evenings. The gates opened at Noon Friday. The pre-‘78 cars entered and began using the 1.25 mile cruise route. The Kick-Off party Friday night was at the Baja Blues restaurant.
70+ vendors kept the spectators busy and added some interest to the weekend. There was the always popular Model Car Contest. Saturday, 2 live bands played all day, “Wind Chant” & “Lil Mo & The Dynaflos”. As always, the heart of the event was the 1.25 mile cruise route! “Wild Wagons” were featured in the “Hanger” and the awards presentation was held Sunday afternoon (3:00) with a “drive-thru” ceremony to show off over 40 special winners. The “spirit” is back for this “Great” 3 day car show.
Thanks for the Show!!
