Cherry Hill, NJ (July 5, 2012) –– July 13 marks the third year in a row the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has secured federal acknowledgement of “National Collector Car Appreciation Day (NCCAD),” an annual opportunity to recognize and generate awareness for the collector car hobby. American Collectors Insurance, the nation’s leading provider of collector-vehicle and collectibles insurance, has once again partnered with Hemmings Motor News to commemorate the occasion at its Cherry Hill, NJ headquarters.
Introduced by Montana’s Senator Jon Tester, Senate Resolution 452 was passed on May 9 and designed to celebrate the role that classic car restoration and collection plays in our society. Numerous organizations nationwide are coordinating local cruises and events to help raise awareness of the hobby. American Collectors Insurance will be among those celebrating and is set to host a free collector car event at its Cherry Hill, NJ headquarters on Friday, July 13 from 4PM-7PM. Event highlights will include a Corvette “Corral” with models from each decade and a unique 1907 underslung American Roadster, the first and oldest American-made sports car. This will be a fun-filled evening complete with beautiful collector vehicles and family-friendly activities.
“We are excited to host another event that pays homage to the growing collector car hobby,” said Laura Bergan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for American Collectors Insurance. “This year, The Road Home - a non-profit organization that helps veterans find training and employment opportunities in the automotive restoration industry - will join us for NCCAD to spread the good work they’ve been doing (www.theroadhomeusa.org). We encourage car lovers everywhere to be visible, have fun with other collectors, and make plans in their communities and with their clubs.”
In addition to The Road Home, another non-profit organization, Carz ’N Toyz (www.carzntoyz.org), will be present at American Collectors’ Cherry Hill event. Carz ’N Toyz was established in 2011 for the purpose of collecting toys for children in Virtua Hospital of South Jersey’s pediatric ward.
