Every car has its own unique qualities, but there's something very special about trucks. Perhaps it's the image of self-sufficiency they project, their versatility and usefulness for a wide variety of purposes. Whyever it is, trucks are a type of vehicle worth celebrating - and that's just what Carlistle Events plans to do.
More than one brand of truck will celebrate its centennial year of operation in 2017, but Carlisle Events is focusing specifically on Ford. At the Carlisle Ford Nationals, presented by Meguiar’s, and the Carlisle Truck Nationals, Carlisle Events will present 100 Years of the Ford Truck. The dates are June 2-4 and Aug. 4-6.
The Carlisle Ford Nationals will feature an invitational display showcasing truck owners, who will be eligible for special awards. There will also be the ever-popular burnout and downtown parade and street party. Two months later at the Carlisle Truck Nationals, more invitational displays focusing on Ford trucks will take center stage, surrounded by many events including the manufacture midway, monster trucks shows, rides and enthusiast clubs around the field. There are also truck-specific competitions, including drop and drag, burnouts, low truck limbo and a high truck contest.
“This will be a spectacular showcase of all things Ford Truck at Carlisle in 2017,” said Ed Scholly, event manager of the Carlisle Truck Nationals. “Trucks of all sizes help move America and the Ford brand has historically produced some of the most reliable and unique trucks ever. The combination of Ford’s elegance and the love of the truck will make these two events something to experience in person.”
