On Saturday April 3, 2012 Cool Cruise was held in the beautiful old town setting of La Verne, CA. This year the show came early, and the weather has been a little on the cool side. The new promoter, Doug Lorimer, ordered up a beautiful sunny day for his first event. Along with support of the Old Town Business Improvement District and The City of La Verne, they have created another well-done Cool Cruise.
The traditional start of this show is a feature that has long been a hit with the crowd. After most of the cars have been parked, the “Power Parking” begins, 20+ loud, hot cars are driven thru the show to their parking spots. Over 450 cars of every color created a perfect match for the Easter holiday. Spread throughout the show were some 40+ interesting vendors and the La Verne Business Expo contained a few more. Many of the local restaurants had tables set-up on the sidewalks offering food, snacks & drinks. The event MC was, as usual, the legendary, Dave McClelland! “The Answer” was also on-hand providing their great “Rock & Roll” all day. The final ceremony included over 28 beautifully crafted plaques given to the winners. The hardworking staff including, Carolyn Dallas, California Horsepower Shop, Rod Philhower, and Melanie Lacy, are planning next year’s Cool Cruise. For more information contact, www/coolcruise.net.
Thanks for the Show!
