Evansville, IN

Hi All
On August 22, 2003 Minnie and I arrived in Evansville, IN ready to kick off a weekend of fun and frogs.  They seemed to be everywhere and they seemed to flock around and on top of green cars more than other colors, I tell you it was weird, but neat they didn't seem to harm anyone, they just liked hanging out around street-rods and I kinda related to that.  The E'ville Iron Street Rod Club kicked off their 29th Annual Rod Run.  E'ville Iron started this run in 1975 with 44 cars in attendance and 29 years later registered over 4,000 cars, believe me these guys are doing everything right, this is one of my favorite shows.  The club donates the proceeds to charities and in the last 20 years have given almost 500 thousand dollars to Easter Seals and The Rehabilitation Center for kids, it don't get any better.  And the setting for the run, Vanderburgh 4-H Center, is the ultimate, with small ponds and lots of grass and trees.  The weather was perfect this year, no rain just great.  Oh, Minnie just reminded me that she gave the Minnie's Pick Award to Kenneth and Betty Bergey for their beautiful '34 Chevy Coupe, is was nice.  Minnie fell in love with the frog man and was gonna run away with him, but when she kissed him he didn't turn into a handsome prince, so she decided it was better to stay with an old fart than a frog, damn, maybe next year I, uh, she will get lucky and find one who does turn into a handsome prince, maybe I can hang on till next year.  Anyway I better let you go to see the show pics before she comes in here and see what I'm writing and starts beating on me, again!  She gets really violent, no sense of humor if you know what I mean.  See Y'all in Pigeon Forge, Shades of the Past, if Minnie don't hurt me real bad.  Enjoy.Jack!!!

An original 1938 airbag, duh how long dey been makin' airbags, I got an old windbag, I didn't mean that Minnie, just joking!

Are these guys laid back or what?

Charlie Lewis drove his slick Chevy up from Atlanta, GA.

Dunno whats he's drinking, but from the looks of his beard must be some bad stuff!

Frogs seemed to be everywhere!

Grrrrrr step away from the car, Grrrrrrr!

I think frogs like Ice Cream, too!

I wonder if that little frog can handle both of those blowers?!

It's for sale, Bob!

Kenneth & Betty Bergey were the lucky recipients of the coveted Minnie's Pick Award.  They had one super nice '34 Chevy!
