Here’s a few pics from the Amelia Island Concours at Amelia Island, Florida in March 2004. Here’s some from the Custom Merc class. It was very well received. It was conceived and organized by notable hot rod expert Ken Gross, who is pictured with his wife Trish Serratore in one of the pictures. I ended up having dinner with Brock Yates and George Barris that evening! The Hirohata Merc won First in Class. The other winners you can see all three staged on the fairway at the Ritz Carlton at Amelia Island. The Hirohata Merc (mint green) is immaculate. George Barris has the gold jacket on. Bobby Unser was the featured racing legend. I snuck in a picture of the “snake lady” next to the Hirohata Merc......... you see “all kinds” of people...... even at the concours events!
