Hi All Heres some pics of the 25th Annual Old Time Drags and Rod Run and 3rd Annual Funnycar Reunion held on July 25, 2004, at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. Over 300 Rods were on display as well as many challenging the 1/4 mile... Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductee, Pat Foster, served as the Grand Marshall for the 3rd Annual Funny Car Reunion. Pats career spanning over 30 years in Drag Racing, Pat Foster is sticking to his roots. Having started working as a chassis builder for Woody Gilmore, John Buttera and Mickey Thompson. Foster built a pair of 69 Mach 1 Mustangs that he drove with teammate Danny Ongais that revolutionized Funny Car engineering with locked suspension, narrow frame rails, and dragster-style roll cages. Foster also drove the often-feared Vega Funny Car of Barry Setzer, which enjoyed dominating success in the early 70s. Im excited to even be asked to be the Grand Marshall of this event, Ive heard so many great things about it, Im truly humbled. I look back to my driving days and always enjoyed coming to Englishtown because the fans were always so die-hard. I often raced with Jungle Jim at many Wednesday nights Match races and have fond memories of Englishtown. Im looking forward to coming back and seeing all the fans, many old friends, and many new friends. Fosters career has come full circle, as he is currently one of the nations best at restoring and recreating Drag Racing machinery. On hand were many of my friends from the 70s when we were racing Nitro Funny Cars from Coast to Coast! It was a great turn out with the rods and old race cars! ............ Now on with the BIG SHOW !!! Njoy!!! Big Al!!!
