We had expected the best and that's what we got at the Grand National Roadster show this year in it's debut at the new location in Pomona, California.    All we can say is WOW !  Thanks to Dan Cyr and the folks at  HotRodShows.com  for their hospitality and for putting on a great show.   A big part of the success was the hard work done by all the Over The Hill Gang members who had a lot of great cars there and who worked hard to make this a big success.     There was a lot to see and many old friends to visit with ..  and the days just flew by ..   Jack took tons of pictures so lets just get on with the show...

This is the Place..  LA Fairgrounds at Pomona a Great Venue..

And this is what it's all about.. The trophy for the Worlds Most Beautiful Roadster . This is a trophy with some history.  It is one of the few  that has come to mean a place in the history of our hobby ..  Many fine cars have been on the red carpet with this beauty.

This 32 from the Petersen Museum collection won the trophy in  1996  and  2000.   Great Car !

And the Winner is   this beautiful  36  Ford owned by Charlie Lambetecchio of Fresno, California.  The car was built by Larry Ruth and sports a  406 Donovan Engine,  Colorado Custom wheels and many very fine features.    Jack got this shot as the judges were doing their thing. They went over these cars with a fine tooth comb, looking over every inch of the cars over and under before making their decision. This is one beautiful car and this trophy is one of many won by this beauty.  Congratulations to Charlie .  Great Car !

The exhibit buildings were really packed on Saturday .. It was a good thing we were there Friday as well so that Jack could get good pictures .

No Southern California show  would be complete without the California Kit . And check out that black whizzer .. It's a  Hopalong Cassidy model..  So cool !
