Yup, it's a Geo-Metro... all the way from Iowa. The tiny three-cylinder is turbo'd & gets it up to 115 mph in the quarter & 125 in the mile.

Yup, it's a Geo-Metro... all the way from Iowa.  The tiny
three-cylinder is turbo'd & it gets up to 115 mph in the
quarter & 125 in the mile.

The turbo-charged Suzuki from Ontario, Canada, ran 119.

Ed Braces street roadster from Amherst, MA. Fitted with
a blown SBC & lots of road-hugging weight (needed for
cars to have traction & stability at Bonneville) it ran 136.
No show winner, but lots of fun.

The slick modified sports car incorporates two staples of
fast Salt runners, a stretched wheelbase & narrow
tread/overall width.

The Dauernheim & Bigelow gas lakester from Rahway, NJ.,
holds the A/GL record at Bonneville (286 mph) with
Tony Feil BBC & the speed record for a car
at Maxton (226).

This time, it had a injected SBC.

The Dauernheims make Roll Master car dollies.

Mild-looking Scott Guthrie (in glasses) has a stable of motorcycles & owns about two dozen records at Maxton.

Including the one for fastest speed.
