Hi All
A small group from the Murfreesboro Hot Rod Club, myself and Kimberly included, invaded Jack and Minnie land for the kick off of the Somernites Cruise in Somerset, Kentucky on April 24, 2004.  It was drizzling rain when we left Murfreesboro and most sane people would have gone back home and crawled back in bed. Not a hot Rodder!  Weve got it bad!  Drive for over 3 hours on rainy, messy streets, just to clean your ride right back up and show it off. Thats what this hobby is all about. PRIDE and ENJOYMENT. Get that sucker out and drive the wheels off it.
We had a little trouble getting started towards the square but realized real quick the best thing to do was follow the next pack of cars headed that way... Bingo!  Were on our way. Traffic was backed up for a solid mile getting in even though event staff was weeding out the civilians. It wasnt a long wait and was well worth it. We later found out there was a car broken down up ahead of us and they were pushing it into a parking lot out of the way.  It seemed like every size, shape and brand of car made before 1960 was represented in some form or fashion. This is a very well organized event especially considering the size.  With over 800 cars packed in 10 to 12 blocks of the beautiful historic downtown area, its quite a site to see.  With a food court and a manufactures midway, this is one class act. We plan on making the trip again very soon.  Maybe next time well catch up with Jack and Minnie.  As always.... hope you enjoy... Butch!!!
