December 2005 December 10th was the annual Moon Eyes Xmas Party in Los Angeles. The show played host to a great collection of pre-1965 hot rods and customs, artists, merchandise vendors, appearances by greats, like George Barris, and live music from some of today's popular rockabilly and punk bands. December 2005 Darrell Greig attended the John Force Holiday Party Benefiting California Highway Patrol's "CHIP's for Kids" toy drive. The event was hosted by Classic Cruisers of North Orange County. Spectators were able to tour the John Force Race Shop and Museum and meet top NHRA Drivers and crews in person. Hundreds of street rods, muscle cars, antiques, classics, motorcycles, trucks, race cars, and specialty vehicles were on display.

December 2005 This is the 7th Annual Cruisin For A Cure Car Show held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at the Orange County Fair & Expo Center, in Costa Mesa, CA. All proceeds go to support Prostate Cancer Research . It is the world's largest one day car show dedicated to helping find a cure for Prostate Cancer. Darrell Greig sent us this show as a part of his series in review.

December 2005 The 16th Annual Belmont Shore Car Show, put on by the Bay City Rodders, is The largest one-day open air car show in the west. Hundreds of cars are shown off on 2nd St. in Belmont Shore. December 2005 Austin has long been proud of its School For The Deaf, which is known throughout the country as a premier High School Level educational institution for the Hearing Impaired. For the past 3 years the automotive shop class has put on a steadily growing car show. Recently, car clubs, Hot Rod shops, and others involved in the Hot Rodding hobby were contacted and invited to be a part of the filming of "Monster Garage" with Jesse James. TREE CHOP is an annual show put on by Pick-Ups Limited of Ventura County. The show was held in a spacious park in Fillmore, Ca. with beautiful views of the mountains near by on Sun. Dec. 11th. December 2005 The Daytona Beach Street Rods Club along with the Daytona Racing District, put on the Annual Daytona Turkey Run, Thanksgiving Weekend, November 24-27 at the Daytona International Speedway. The Turkey Run is not only Florida's biggest car show and swap meet, but it is also the biggest event of this type in the southeast each year. November 2005 We had heard the story before.... Dick Dean is retiring .... �HA� we thought.... fat chance... and the first time we were right..... but this time is for real ... Dick is handing over the reigns of his shop to his son Keith, who has worked by his side for many years. Once we knew it was �for real� we knew we had to go .... so on Friday we hopped a plane for L.A. and on Saturday morning made our way to Hemet, California... a small desert town near Palm Springs......

November 2005 The Newport Antique Auto Hill climb was held on Main Street in Newport, Indiana. The run was about 2, 000 Ft. long, and the cars could only be stock and up to 1955 except for the modified Model A engines that looked like 1900�s race cars. Mark VanBuskirk sent us his pictures of the hill climb recently. Enjoy them!

November 2005 "The Houston Autorama was held in the George R. Brown Convention Center this Thanksgiving weekend, the first time away from the Astrodome. It was a great gathering of Rods, Customs, Low Riders, Classics, you name it. November 2005 "This was the weekend for a little different kind of Car Show. In Kingsbury, Texas (50 miles from Austin) there was an Antique Airplane Fly-in and Car Show. It was not widely publicized so the number of cars was small ( around 30), but no one that showed up was disappointed. With about 60 vintage aircraft constantly flying in and out, a BBQ concession, several hangars where planes were under construction and the hot rods, there was plenty to enjoy. Richard "Too Low" Haas

November 2005 Gil Palmer attended The cops for tots show which was held on 10/30/05 at the Police Academy in Los Angeles California. The show was a real hit over 500 cars participated. They sold out of everything food, t shirts , the raffle and silent auction were a great success. This was the best Show they ever had. The weather was great the music was great and everyone has a good time.

November 2005 300 cars and their owners participated in the 15th Annual Cayucos Car Show. It was a beautiful sunny November day at the seaside. Vintage machines were lining the classic California beach town long before sunrise. The show was attended by thousands and all seemed to have a great day. November 2005 " The Bastrop Cruisers (Texas) put on a fine show this past weekend under the shade of the tall pine trees. This show continues to grow a little each year, both in size and quality, and this year was no exception. November 2005 Bob Choisser took about 100 photos at the GoodGuys 16th Annual Fall Get-Together at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds on Saturday, November 12th. Weather was great and the turn out was excellent. My guess, there was just about 2,000 cars and trucks there and the For Sale Car Corral was full.

November 2005 Saturday, November 12th was a beautiful day in Spartanburg, SC as Mason's Hot Rods opened their doors for their 4th Annual Open House and Cruise-in. The weather was sunny and around 70. November 2005 "Big Al" Liebmann just got back from the 8th Annual �USA-1 DRAGFEST� held at Bruce Larson�s Stoneycreek Barn outside Harrisburg, PA. Over 200 hard core drag racers/rodders were in attendance. What a great time seeing Bruce�s collection of Race Cars and Rods and bench racing back into the heydays of the �50�s, �60�s and �70�s. Bruce is one of the early pioneers of the FX CLASS aka: Funny Cars and become 1989 NHRA Winston FUNNY CAR CHAMPION.

November 2005 Bruce and Janelle Morris visited the Toyota Car Museum while they were in Japan. It is in Nagoya Japan. The museum is fabulous, and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Japan. We were extremely impressed with the cars that were from all over the world.

November 2005 Yes, Fall is in the air, the weather turning cooler, the rains come and the Pacific Northwest prepares for the oncoming winter. Some put their cars away, but not these more than 50 intrepid troupers! November 2005 Steve Jones sent us the pictures from The Bright Rod Run in Bright Australia. It was the best time at Bright Rod Run this year, the Towns People & Organizers of the Event had worked hard to cater to the Record Rod Entries & there was huge support from the Public. The Cruzin was great as Family's & Friends packed along the medium strips to watch the Cars go by, so a great time was had by all.

November 2005 The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry's brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. Ray Blomster was there and took these great pictures for us. November 2005 Here are a few pictures from Ed DeVito of his last big get together of the year. The show was called "Farewell to 2005" and was hosted by Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, NJ. Weather was great, attendance was super, and our host provided food for all. Afterwards, some of the antique owners paraded for several miles up Ocean Avenue through several towns. It was a sight to see.

November 2005 On the way back from Cayucos car show Sam Flowers stopped at one of his favorite car shows at Nojoqui Falls Park near Buelton and Solvang, Ca..This show is unadvertised but draws over 200 cars, pretty good for just word of mouth I think. November 2005 Dick "Fuzzy" Fuerholzer attended The Halloween car show which was held on of course, October 30, 2005. It drew over 200 cars, and lots of scarry people. The trophies had pumpkins inside. The weather was a beautiful fall day, with good food and lots of spectators.

November 2005 Bob Choisser took some photos at the Arbuckle (Northern Calif.) Depot Birthday BBQ & Car Show on Sunday, October 30th. About 130 cars showed up and it was a great day. The BBQ Tri tip was delicious too.

November 2005 Seaside Park was rocking with the sounds of good times and Rockabilly music. These bands were rocking and reeling all day long. The Primer Nationals had cool customs and hard core primered rat rods, plus low and slow low riders. The vintage Harleys springers were looking good. November 2005 The great rides were out in Moorpark, CA. for the Roamn' Relics Car Show, showing their stuff. This is one of the best run shows around and they work very hard to make it fun. November 2005 These are pics of the 22nd Annual Longhorn Heritage Days & Rod Run held in Old Town Spring, Texas on October 29th & 30th from Kiffin. There were a lot of cars. I'd estimate a couple of hundred street rods, kustoms, restored vehicles and bikes were in attendance.

October 2005 On Oct 30, 05 the Clay County Cruisers held their 1st Annual Clay County Cruisers Halloween Car Show at the Clay County High School in Manchester, Ky. The weather was great and there was a super turnout for the event. Jerry Shepherd, Shepherds Auto Parts, gave $100 each for Best Ford and Best Chevy, and Cornette Chevrolet contributed $100 for the Best Mopar. Everyone had a terrific time and we are looking forward to doing it again next year, until then Keep on Kroooooooozin. Jack Roberts

October 2005 Rex Roden, President of Capital City Cruisers, sent some pics of cars that attended their OctoberFest Show Saturday, October 29th. The registered 76 beautiful cars and the show were a huge success. We collected over 50 toys and raised over $1300.00 for "Gifts From The Heart" a local charity here in Sacramento .

October 2005 Judy and Wayne Newkirk drove their 1940 Ford to Dawsonville, Georgia last Friday. On Saturday, October 22, they attended the 38th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival. October 2005 The Big Cruisefest is held every year in October in Little Rock, Arkansas @ The Market Place along the beauitful riverfront adorned by the Capital Building and the Clinton Library. Guest this year were the complete set of the Dukes of Hazard cars, Norm Grabowski, Bill Clinton with his mustang, and of course Spiderman. October 2005 On October 23, 2005 the little town of Moorpark California was taken over by over 400 Street Rods. The day started off a bit over cast and pockets of fog. That gave the Street Rodders the element of surprise. By the time the town folk realized just what was happening, High Street in Moorpark and the streets that lead into High Street were over come by the sights and sounds of horsepower, lots-o-horse power. In this reporters opinion it was a very unfair battle. The locals never had a chance. How could anyone compete with that many beautiful cars. Pictures from Bob DeCarlo.

October 2005 Sam Flowers is still recovering from knee surgery but he had to get out and see this show. This is the Primer Nationals held at Seaside Park in Ventura, Ca. Sat., Oct 22. Rust and suede paint were the order of the day here but some nice customs appeared also. Lots of old choppers, mainly Harleys were there too. There is a lot of creativity and recycling in some of the construction of these cars.

This show attracted about 60 very diversified cars. Rockin� Ronny was the live D.J. and master of automotive trivia. Huntington Bank provided all the free food and drink that you could consume and a 8 foot by 12 foot big screen outdoor TV to watch the live broadcast of the university of Michigan vs Michigan State football game!

October 2005 Well, it rained on George Reed again Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, but Saturday the sun came out and so did the lead sleds and custom cars. My number on Friday morning was 3179 at the 26th Annual James Dean Run in Fairmount, In. This was also the 50th Anniversary of James Dean�s death in California. 45,000 to 55,000 people were expected to show up over the weekend to pay their respects to James Dean. Saturday we went to the Ducktails in Gas City, IN. We arrived at 7:30 AM and I was 2017 and cars were coming in all day. There were about 5 or 6,000 cars at the park and it was full, and a little muddy, but we all had a good time.

September 2005 There were over 1,300 cars at the NE NSRA Nationals in Burlington, Vermont on Sept. 23-25. James Pinard was there and took these pictures. The weather Friday and Saturday was great. Sunday we had clouds and strong winds. The rains held off for the awards and traveling home for the most part was good. My wife, Debby, and I have a 1941 Ford Pick-up street rod that we took to the show. It is painted flat black with flames on the tilt front end. Be sure and look for it in the pictures!

September 2005 Here are some pic's from a show that Bob "Butch" Molinaro went to on Sept. 25, 2005. It was put on by Kahla Campbell a senior at Folsom high school. Kahla planed and put this car show on to raise money and awareness for Down syndrome children for her senior project. The show was held at the Red Robin in Folsom. Kahla did a great job and worked very hard to make this show a success, we are sure she will get an A+ for her senior project.

September 2005 On Sept 24, 2005 the Somernites Cruise Team held their Sept. edition of their monthly Cruise, and as usual it was an absolute success according to Jack Roberts who took these pictures for us. September 2005 The reason for Bruce and Janelle Morris's trip to Adelaide was to attend the 29th Chevrolet Festival. September 2005 According to Bernie Perreault The Frankenmuth Auto Fest was just unreal this year. With temps. in the 80's and 90's every day. You could not ask for anything better. The Friday night block party drew over 2500 cars and over 100,000, spectators. I highly recommend that if anyone is in this part of the country that they attend this event. The quality of vehicles is a must for all gear heads.

September 2005 Brian Curtis attended The week long gathering of studebaker enthusiasts in Spokane, Wa. in August 2005 which was the culmination of a years planning by the Inland Empire Studebaker chapter. Each year, the international meet is held in a different location. This one was the first held in the Pacific Northwest. 350 Studebakers and over 1100 Studebaker Club Members converged on the Red Lion Hotel on the Spokane River. September 2005 This marked Robert Steinhaus's first return to this weekly Cruise-In since the untimely passing of its founder Paul Baker. Under his direction this event had grown from a �few cars� local event to one of the ten largest cruise-in locations in the United States. I was very happy to see that son Chris has not only taken over the restaurant operations but continues this tradition which was also started by his Father. The cars are spectacular!

Both events were held at the Hockenheim Formular-1 Racetrack. The Nitro-Olympix are the biggest Drag Racing Events in Europe. We had the 20th anniversary this year . Goodguys Member Germany and Rhein-Main-Cruisers did a Hot Rod Special at this show. Two weeks later, we joined the Grand Nationals Hot Rod, US Car and Volkswagen Show at the Hockenheimring. August 2005 Jack and Minnie Roberts attended The 5th year Reunion of the Somernites Cruise, held on Aug. 27,05 in Somerset, Ky. which is now History. It will go down as the largest. August 2005 Pinckeny, Michigan was the last town on the cruise for Robert Steinhaus before entering the town of Hell. It is interesting to note that this rural town of 2000 has a thriving downtown. Once a week during the summer, around the towns lovely park, an informal cruise-in attracts as many as 90 cars.

August 2005 Matthias Vogel attended the NSRA Super Hot Rod Nationals in Great Britain. NSRA England did a perfect organization around the Hot Rod Show. It was the perfect mix between family atmosphere and Hot Rod Party. ( The Rodder Parties at night are more fun than American events / sorry). The quality of British hot rodding grew a lot in the past years. Many cars can compete with the north American street rod scene. Take a look!!!

August 2005 Ray Schuler attended John Stimacs and the Kruse Boys Open House Yesterday. The joint was jumpin, and even the rain couldn't hamper John Stimacs, and the Kruse boys open house on Thursday night before the Goodguys Nats in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
