The Minnesota Street Rod Association Back To The Fifties 2005 is now just a memory.. and what a great one it is ! This year the weather was about the best weve seen it in 5 years. There had been 2 months of rainy weekends in the St. Paul area but apparently the great weather was just waiting for this weekend. It was in the 80s most of the time and not a cloud in the sky. This year the car count was 10,850 last time we heard. And all those cars were together in a beautiful setting at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds with crowds of Rodders all enjoying a great time. This is a show we always look forward to, and if youve never been to this show its one that you should make plans for next year.. We really had a great time. We saw a lot of old friends who we hadnt seen since last summer and, of course, we met a lot of new people too. We hope you enjoy the pictures.. theyre just a very small peek at a really great show.. |
When we arrived at the show on Friday morning, one of the first cars we saw was this great looking 41 Graham.. now this had a special meaning to us because our good friend and HotRod HotLine Roving Reporter, Sam Flowers has a 41 Graham and has been looking for a few parts.. we tried to get this rodder to give up her Upper Grill to a good cause but it was a lost cause.. sorry Sam ! She did say that she knows of someone in the area with some parts so maybe theres still hope for Sam in his quest for an upper grill for his Graham. She also had a book of matches made for Graham as a promotion.. what a find. |

We were especially happy to see our good friends from the Michigan Hot Rod Association Hot Rod Repair Shop. Not only are they all really great guys and good friends.. but they are also selfless angels to their fellow rodders in need of help. The MHRA HotRod Repair Shop sets up at 17 shows during the summer season with a trailer full of supplies and tools and a group of crack mechanics to help rodders in distress get their cars back on the road. Every year they fix everything from small adjustments to entire engine swaps ( we watched them do this in Louisville two years ago).. Most of these broken down rodders would really be up a creek without a paddle without their help. Imagine breaking down in a strange town without any tools ! We take our hats off to the great guys of the MHRA HotRod Repair Shop. THANKS GUYS ! |
