This cruise marked the first anniversary of the sudden and unexpected death of Paul Baker who was an icon in the community. The owner of numerous local businesses including Baker�s Restaurant in Milford, MI., which along with being a great restaurant and banquet facility, has grown through Paul�s efforts to the largest cruise-in location in Michigan and one of the ten largest in the United States. Last year, more than eight hundred people attended his funeral, and more than 3000 classic cars rolled through Bakers of Milford to honor his life. The roads became so clogged with vintage cars and hot rods that the police had to turn hundreds of cruisers away. On Sunday August 6, we gathered in his memory and in tribute. There were trophy presentations, speeches, and thousands of cars and participants. An example of the excitement that happens at Bakers on every Sunday during the summer.
