Bonneville 2006. A road trip with my son Joshua, a trip we were looking forward to for a long, long time. Turned out to be a road trip of a lifetime, a real adventure. The build up of the SS 427 Chevelle took 6 years. See the rest of the story in Garage shots.
We made some friends by the names of Jeff Peterson and Craig Johnson years ago at the National Woodie Meet in Encinitas "WAVECREST" In the mean time we all have been to The Winter nationals together as Jim Kipp's guests to his skybox. As guests of Craig Johnsonís we have been to The End of the World Rod Run in Long Beach Wa. Now finally for the Bonneville adventure...a cross country road trip with my son and our mutual interest in style and speed...enjoy the ride...
Yes we did run outta gas in Nevada... in a prison zone where all the road signs say, "donít pick up hitchhikers!!!" a hippie girl did pick us up though, but due to being stranded got to see the Red Neck with his dog surfin the pickemup truck @ 40mph!!! Darn I wish I could have switched the camera to movie mode quick enough...I know its sick humor and the dog could be in for some serious consequences, yet ya had to be there, too funny. Watched 7 people get pulled over for speedin just while we were fiddle'n around gettin gas and wouldnít ya know it got one too. But NO they left the Red Neck with the dog on the roof alone...Remember when in Ely NV. What their number one industry is.... law enforcement! And Law Enforcement has the nicest vehicles in town...no kidding! The whole ordeal made for a good adventure, ya gotta love it.
