There can be no doubt that the Amarillo Area Corvette Club knows how to throw a party! A tremendous amount of cooperation between the Amarillo Corvette Club and city management, total devotion from Corvette club members and a town that remembers the excitement of the past when Polk street was the scene for weekend cruises and downtown gatherings.
It all went together this August 5, 2006 when an estimated 14, 000 fans of the Cultural Classic Car Cruise, came downtown once again to witness approximately 5 miles of bumper to bumper exotics, classics, rods, trucks, Corvettes, customs and motorcycles. From 6- 10 PM, the town cranked, bellowed and smoked, burnouts, peel skids, you name it, and the town was alive again. It was history repeating itself. Amarillo is a town that loves its cars.
