"The Texas Heat Wave is an event that was originally intended for the "Low Rider" set, but as the event has grown, so has it's appeal, and that includes drawing a fair number of Hot Rodders. The difference between this show and your "average" Hot Rod car show is in the number of things going on. For instance, Saturday was filled to the top with events like: Monster truck show, Stationary Burn-out Contest, Wheel Stand Exhibition, Truck Tug-Of -War, BMX bikes and skate Show, Lowest Truck Championship, wet T-shirt contest (I can't believe I missed it!), and several more events. Plus an incredible number of vendors. The weather stayed clear for most of Saturday, although there was a lightning storm going on to the North. All in all it was a very enjoyable day. Richard "Too Low" Haas, Street Rods Forever www.streetrodsforever.com, The Donut Gang
