I stayed 10 days in Livermore & Pleasanton, California. I arrived Friday at SFO at 1 PM. At 2.30 PM I was at Brizios Street Rod where the store manager, Dave, took our parts order. Like always, everything worked perfect with the Brizios Parts order. Next stop was Arlen Ness Shop. I met Cory Ness two weeks before near Frankfurt at a Bike Show. I plan to buy a chopper from him in the future. On the other side of the Ness Plant is California Classic, a large Hot Rod and Classic car dealer, a must to visit.
Saturday morning I was invited to the legendary Danville Dukes Breakfast where I met lots of Hot Rod Legends and talked to Goodguys Gary Meadors. After the breakfast I visited the Blackhawk Museum ( I know Fred Zimmerman from the Blackhawk Museum, who is also a Danville Duke) and Specialty Car Sale, who have Muscle Cars and Rods for sale.
Saturday night I cruised down to LA. I arrived at 7:30 AM Sunday morning at the Long Beach Hi-Performance Swap Meet. As always, we spent to much $$$ and left at 10 AM for the 20th Ford Meeting at Knotts Berry Farm. Lots of Ford Stuff. I was done at 2PM and left for the Petersen Museum on Wilshire Blvd. What a great place! I enjoyed the Chip Foose special and the cars from Rockn Roll Legends, like Billy F Gibbons. Still not to tired I headed down to the Beach, to Huntington Beach, where the Woody & Classic Car Show was being held at the pier. After shooting many photos I was tired and went to bed at the nearby Best Western Hotel.
Monday was a relaxing day at the beach, where I met some nice girls... The next day we went to CW Moss where we spent lots of $$, and then visited TCI Chassis, because we own quite a few Rods with TCI Chassis underneath. Next, we made a short stop at Boyd Coddingtons .
Wednesday we cruised ( Rental car had a fuel shut off at 110 mp/h) back to Livermore, where I stayed with family friends.
I bought myself a new Cannondale Mountain Bike (to loose some weight after too many burgers...) and had a nice week in the bay area with pinstriper legend Herb Martinez !.
Over Easter I flew home to Frankfurt, and I think now that I am ready for a real vacation .
