The Road Kings Car Club hosted their 15th Annual Santa Anita Car show on 10/15. The event is held in the infield area with the race tracks and the stands surrounding the event. My friends and I left at 6 a.m. for the car show in our three cars. On the way we were greeted with a smattering of rain but felt confident the day would clear. After arriving at the race track we didn't have to wait long to get parked and had some great spots right along the race track. Around 8:30 a.m., just as we were finishing our breakfast the sky let loose with rain; that was followed by drizzle and mist. Eventually it stopped and we wiped the cars down but the sun never came out....so much for the "it's always sunny at the car shows in S. California" saying. The weather didn't curtail the attendance as there were over four hundred cars in the infield, not to mention the crowds of spectators. We watched the horses getting their workouts in the early a.m., checked out all the cars and then watched (and bet on)the horse races which began at 12:30. The day flew by and before we knew it it was time to leave. The Road Kings make every effort to make this a spectacular event and we will be back next year; hope to see you there. Enjoy the pics.
