Iíve known Lance Lambert for about a decade now, and have followed his career with interest. He and I have similar automotive interests, odd cars, old rock and roll music and photo-journalism. Lance writes, produces, and hosts the Vintage Vehicle Show and has done over 300 episodes.

I was drawn to Lanceís writing in one of our regional magazines many years ago, and enjoyed his take on hot rodding that so very much paralleled my own. Lanceís acting career has an automotive background with made for television shows such as Jet City Cruisers, set in a shop where hot rodding was the subject matter.

We recently connected at a seminar he gave and I asked if we could interview him and do a story on the Vintage Vehicle Show while he was in action. Our schedules were on target for a meeting at the 2006 Seattle Roadster Show on March 3, 2006. After making the rounds, doing our photography, we had a bite and got busy! Working? Nah! We followed the talented Lance and his crew while they set-up and ran through one interview after another like the old pros they are. Working without a script and just asking questions that are relevant to another gear-head, the process was quickly taken care of, the car and owner expertly put on tape. The cameras had been busy several hours earlier gathering miles of tape for addition to the program.

If you have seen The Vintage Vehicle Show, you have seen the variety of subjects covered. Lance has interviewed the celebrities of the hobby, been in most every collection known to the west coast gear-heads, shot shows as far afield as Florida and North Carolina and shown up at cruise-ins and car shows by invitation. Lance is host for the Lance Lambert Downtown Issaquah City Cruise at the XXXDrive-in, Issaquah, Wa. on June 25th 2006. His personal rides are always interesting, a small block Chevy powered Rambler currently in the stable.

This is a behind the scene look at what it takes to tape a show.
